TrackMint ("the app", "we") is an offline-first personal finance tracker. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. TrackMint is built around a simple principle: your financial data stays on your device and in your own Google account — we do not operate a server that stores it.
1. Data stored on your device
All your financial records — accounts, transactions, transfers, budgets, saving goals, investments, loans, lending, tags and settings — are stored locally on your device in an on-device database. This data never leaves your device except through the optional Google Sheets sync you control.
2. Google Sign-In and Google Drive / Sheets
If you choose to enable sync, TrackMint uses Google Sign-In to access:
- Your email address and basic profile — to identify the signed-in account.
- Google Drive / Sheets (file-scoped) — to create and update a single spreadsheet ("TrackMint Finance Data") in your own Google Drive. The app can only access the file it creates; it cannot see your other Drive files.
Your financial data is written to that spreadsheet in your Google account. We have no access to it and do not receive a copy.
3. Exchange rates
To convert currencies, the app fetches daily exchange rates from a public API (open.er-api.com). Only a currency code (e.g. "USD") is sent in the request — no personal or financial information is transmitted.
4. Advertising
TrackMint may display ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's advertising policies. Where required (e.g. in the EEA/UK), the app shows a consent prompt so you can choose how your data is used for ads.
5. Data we do NOT collect
We do not run a backend and do not collect, store, sell or share your financial data. We have no account database and no analytics on your transactions.
6. Your choices
- You can use the app fully offline without signing in.
- You can sign out at any time to stop syncing.
- You can delete the spreadsheet from your Google Drive at any time.
- Uninstalling the app removes all local data from your device.
7. Children
TrackMint is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
